I rode the Canal and then the Creek to 4-mile, Forest St. and home.
13.8 miles @15.78mph for 52:35 minutes.
a log of rides and opinions as I transform from sedentary office worker to a rider fit enough for an epic ride, Colorado's Triple Bypass: 3 mountain passes, 120 miles, 10,000 feet of elevation gain, in one day.

Late Start: 59min @ 13.9
I started late this year. Low motivation, no desire to tackle the triple, and less fabulous weather. I've done a little bit of kettle-bell work to start building some strength into my legs and want to try that this yearf: less distance, more strength, better climbing.
This ride started out OK, a bit cool, maybe 50. I went down the Highline Canal to see the construction at Iliff. The tunnel next to the canal under Iliff isn't as wide as the typical bridge over Cherry Creek, but it will be a welcome addition to the ride. I headed back up the Creek from where they meet to the Four Mile House, then up Forest Street and home. Forest Street was OK, but did use the granny gear and really wasn't interested in a few more laps.
Most everything felt OK. Lungs a bit dry and I coughed up a bit of phlegm, nothing gross though.
